What the Fish! This one is full of promise and promises continue to dog you all through this now-interesting-now-promising film on an inane, run-of-the-mill situation.
Dimple Kapadia, seen on screen after a pretty long long break, does a pretty good job as an ageing wife of a man who stares you down from a photo frame — and of course all the angst and abuses that the poor little still man hears from his wife from up there on the wall.
The film, about Dimple’s house keys being given to a no-good caretaker whom she considers a bad suitor of her niece, looks sneakingly familiar to an old Hollywood movie but what the fish. Lifts are in vogue today — and in all forms!
So, all the activity that goes on unhindered in this house behind Dimple’s back — which she says is allergic to anyone touching her bedspread or using her toilet (where she washes and hangs currency to do away with infections!) is not entirely uninteresting. The highlight of the film is the Saharanpurwali ladki who runs away with one man, sleeps with another who is his friend and gets duped by a woman into returning to her small town alone.
Other than that, there is a fish in the bowl which ups the earnings of a fishwallah merely by dropping dead more than seven times in the water — sometimes due to over-eating, sometimes due to lack of oxygen and sometimes — well, sometimes due to the shock of witnessing a steamy sex session high on herbal viagra!
In between there are a lot of interesting moments. Together, they make for an okay comedy, attempted and orchestrated in an above average manner. Wish, however, the laughs were many more.

Criminal: Arresting memory transplant

Cast : Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Reynolds, Jordi Mollà Rated : 6/10 Big names, big imagination and good execution make this memory transplant thriller a good one to be with, especially with Kevin Costner doing a pretty good job with a character he has never played – that of an emotionless, incarcerated, brutal killer in whose brain a do-good, wife and daughter loving dead CIA’s agent’s (Ryan Reynolds) remembrances are inserted for a trail that is important for the organisation. The underdone role has been handled well by Costner, much like a successful experiment. As he gets acquainted with emotions of love, caring and affection that have been alien to him, he starts turning from a monster to a human being but the director does well to not completely erase his original personality. Mission impossible: Rogue nation -- Ethan Hunt back with bang

Staring:  Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Jeremy Reyner & Rebecca Ferguson Rated : 8/10 Last time Ethan Hunt had your jaw dropping and you praying fervently for his life when mounted the sky scraping Burj Khalifa in Dubai to dangle from dizzying heights. This time, he does the same — and in all earnestness — when he dangles from the outer door of a military aircraft carrying nerve gas all those 20,000 feet high swaying with terrifying winds, hanging on to dear life literally with his finger nails.
