R...Rajkumar is H...Horrible!
R...Rajkumar
Starring: Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood
Rated: 1/10
Silent ho ja Shahid, varna main violent ho jaoongi! Yes, it makes you that desperate — this horrifying attempt at movie-making, this insulting the intelligence of the audience, this non-story story, this cacophony that bursts your eardrums and this mish-mash of nonsense that annoys you enough to tear your hair in frustration.
That one mark you see up there is for sheer indulgence for poor little Shahid Kapur trying so hard to be accepted as a goonda mawali with a stubble and all that unkemptness that surrounds our screen desperadoes. Gandi baat Shahid! You can’t expect us to not say “uggh” to your slurpy attempt at romancing Sonakshi in this one. Actually, you could have been booked for sexual harassment, intimidation, stalking, and eve-teasing all in one go had you stepped out of the screen in the mode that you appear in R…Rajkumar.
But to be frank, it’s not just Shahid who should take the blame for this unplugged blunder that hits you without premise. Someone should bring out a restriction order against Prabhu Deva saying all films directed by him will have to pass muster before hitting the audience unprovoked. Perhaps, he should make a career change and return to a dance academy or a dance reality show which he is not producing or directing. Otherwise, how could he waste the powerhouse talent of Sonu Sood, the earnestness of Shahid and the star value of Sonakshi Sinha with such impunity? None of them works here and as you hurtle down the lane of asphyxiating editing of this trash you wonder why you are being punished for no fault of yours.
By now, you must have realised R…Rajkumar is one of those unnervingly bad films which make movie-going a monstrous experience from which an emergence is a tough fight for survival. An advice for Shahid Kapur: Don’t see this film or you will feel more misplaced than you felt in Mausam.
